The Evolution Of Cannabis Concentrates – Sugar 

Cannabis concentrates are the “relatively” new kid on the cannabis block allowing consumers new, powerful, and convenient ways to enjoy their cannabis! In my humble opinion, new is usually better because if it wasn’t an improvement then why aren’t we still exclusively using flower, am I right?

Today’s article will break down a specific concentrate, Sugar, heralded for its elevated terpene profiles and amazingly potent effects giving Sugar a tantalizing one-two combination.

What Is Sugar And What Do I Need To Know?

Rumor has it, Sugar was originally conceived by accident when other, similar types of extracts evolved into Sugar over an extended period of time. It’s funny how some of the best things in life happen by accident, like post-it notes, Coca-Cola(Google that one), dynamite to name a few. But, just like all of the above accidents, extract professionals have been improving and perfecting the production of Sugar to the point of creating it directly versus using other, similar, concentrates to transition to Sugar over time and we are so happy they did. 

So, Sugar is a marijuana extract that offers a sticky, crystal-like consistency by combining the plant’s terpenes with its cannabinoids. Terpenes are what give the cannabis plant its aroma and flavor and Sugar has terpenes unlike any extract currently in the market. Sugar, as with most concentrates, is made through the chemical extraction of dried cannabis flower or fresh frozen cannabis plants using solvents like Butane or Propane.

Now there are many ways to enjoy Sugar like topping off a bowl or joint of flower but my method of consumption was a terp pen dab rig.

Platinum Valley – Sugar Effects

With a Max THC of 95.5%, Platinum Valley Sugar is incredibly strong. The effects from this Sativa strain were fast-acting, intense, and melted away stress that had built up over the course of the day. Feelings of euphoria and excitement will steamroll the consumer immediately, and stay with you for the better part of an hour.   

Platinum Valley – Sugar Appearance/Aroma/Taste

Platinum Valley Sugar has a bright yellow or deep amber color and sparkles like a diamond. Much like traditional sugar, Platinum Valley Sugar has a semi-crystalline consistency bound together loosely forming essentially a glob of yellow sugar. Due to its consistency, sugars tend to lock in flavor and tastes the way weed smells. Compared to budder from our previous article which possessed a light aroma, Platinum Valley Sugar has an incredible terpene profile with strong lemon citrus aromas. Advocates love sugar because the terps smell so flavorful.

Recommendations
